The Queensland Police Service is investigating a spate of Toyota LandCruiser and RAV4 thefts across Brisbane in recent weeks and is appealing to the public for information that could help recover almost 50 stolen vehicles.
In one incident, four LandCruisers were stolen from the same premises in the Brisbane suburb of Moorooka, with one of the vehicles recovered in Willawong, just a few suburbs further south.
The QPS is still searching for the remaining three LandCruisers stolen in the incident and has asked the general public to provide any dashcam footage or other details that could lead to their recovery.
The four Moorooka LandCruisers are part of a dramatic rise in the number of stolen Toyotas in Brisbane. Authorities reported 47 thefts of RAV4s and LandCruisers over a three-week period from October 20 to November 12, 2025.

Victoria cemented its position as Australia’s car theft capital as figures for the 2024-2025 financial year, which covers the 12 months to June 30, 2035, recorded a 59 per cent increase in insurance claims.
This compares to an 11 percent increase in insurance claims for stolen vehicles nationwide over the same period.
