Per Redbook In the listing, the EX5 Extended Range uses a 68.4 kWh battery, offering a range of 475 km on the WLTP cycle in the full trim and 450 km for the top model Inspire.
The predecessor EX5 uses a 60.22 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP), which offers a WLTP range of 430 km in the complete configuration and 410 km in the Inspire.
The output of the single front-mounted electric motor remains unchanged at 160 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque.
With no extra noise and 50kg of extra weight, the EX5 is slightly slower. Per RedbookThe 0-100 km/h sprint takes 7.6 seconds in the Complete version and 7.4 seconds in the Inspire version, compared to 6.9 seconds and 7.1 seconds respectively in the previous model.
Also listed on Redbook is a new premium paint option, Jungle Green, first seen on the Geely Starray plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV).
Aside from the addition of a cargo cover for Complete and Inspire, the equipment list otherwise appears to be unchanged.
The EX5 was the debut model for Geely Auto Australia, with customer deliveries beginning in March 2025.
The model got off to a good start here because despite not being on sale throughout the year, it recorded 3944 deliveries in 2025.
The EX5 thus exceeded the sales figures of its competitors, including the BYD Atto 3 (3861), the Deepal S07 (287) and the Leapmotor C10 (579).
The EX5 was joined by another mid-size SUV, the Starray PHEV, in local Geely showrooms later in 2025.
The last time Geely’s eponymous brand was seen in Australia was in the early 2010s, when it was managed by an independent distributor.
While the Geely brand had a false start here more than a decade ago, more widespread Geely brands such as Polestar and Zeekr have now joined the classics such as Volvo and Lotus.
