A new custom Porsche 911 is a tribute to the beauty of Taiwan.
The island of Taiwan is a unique and beautiful place that combines the sprawling urban oasis of Taipei with mountains, rocky landscapes and stunning coastlines. Despite being a small island, Taiwan has an incredible range of natural beauty, which has been paid tribute to with Porsche’s latest custom project, the Porsche 911 Carrera T “Formosa”. Named after the nickname given to Taiwan by Portuguese sailors in the 16th century, “Formosa” means “beautiful island,” and the 911 Carrera T “Formosa” highlights Taiwan’s beauty through its beautiful, tailored design.
Taking things a step further than programs like “Porsche Paint to Sample” is Sonderwunsch, which translates to “Special Wishes,” a branch of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur that derives from the meticulously crafted custom Porsches produced in the early days of the manufacturer’s history. Through Special Request, customers can not only request custom colors, but also add handcrafted details that transform Porsche’s already enticing luxury performance cars into unique masterpieces worthy of the most exclusive automotive collections.
This example, the 911 Carrera T “Formosa,” was specifically inspired by Taiwan’s mountains, coastlines and rock formations, three of the most well-known factors that contribute to the island’s beauty. A sample exterior paint finish in Ipanema Blue Metallic is combined with Suzuka Gray Metallic detailing to evoke the meeting of sea and stone on Taiwan’s coast.
The interior of the new 911 Carrera T “Formosa” features two-tone leather upholstery in truffle brown and black with midnight green stitching, which, together with Paldao wood trim, creates an ambience reminiscent of the lush mountain landscape of Taiwan. A new “Formosa” check pattern also combines midnight green, black and off-white for a highly individual detail.
Bespoke details throughout the vehicle include custom lettering in the luggage compartment, commemorative door sills and other details that highlight the luxury and craftsmanship of the new 911 “Formosa”. With a stunning, bespoke design and one of the world’s most beautiful islands as inspiration, the new Porsche 911 Carrera T “Formosa” is another example of Sonderwunsch’s luxurious, bespoke excellence.
