Porsche Sonderwunsch is reviving the legend of the Carrera GT.
Even after 20 years, the Porsche Carrera GT is still one of the most fascinating super sports cars in Porsche history. With a V10 engine and manual transmission, it is one of the most popular purist-focused performance machines currently available on the market, and through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch Manufaktur, customers can submit their Porsche Carrera GT examples to a Porsche “Factory Re-Commission” to reinvent their legendary supercars.
One of those customers is Victor Gómez from Puerto Rico, whose 20-year-old Carrera GT was not only restored to like-new condition, but also received a unique “Salzburg” paint job reminiscent of another historic Porsche legend: the 1970 Le Mans-winning 917. The interior also received a bespoke treatment with red Alcantara upholstery and matte carbon fiber accents.
No stone was left unturned during the restoration: the vehicle was completely dismantled, the V10 engine was overhauled and carbon fiber parts were recoated. To achieve the Salzburg-inspired livery, the design had to be redesigned to complement the proportions of the Carrera GT rather than the 917 racing car. The paintwork is protected with a transparent film so that the owner can drive the super sports car on the streets of Puerto Rico.

The unique “Salzburg” design of this Carrera GT by Victor Gómez is an example of this incredible bespoke craftsmanship and design excellence.
