Porsche is celebrating the holidays with its new Macan Electric.
The Porsche Macan Electric is a reinterpretation of one of the manufacturer’s most iconic and famous models. The Macan Electric originally launched a decade ago as a smaller luxury performance SUV and became an instant hit. It brings cutting-edge electric vehicle technology to the same formula and is Porsche’s second fully electric model after the high-performance Taycan.
At the top of the current Porsche Macan Electric range is the Porsche Macan Electric Turbo with 630 hp and 833 lb/ft of torque. The powerful electric luxury SUV is the star of Porsche’s latest Christmas campaign, depicting the vehicle’s journey along Germany’s Silver Road during the height of the holiday season.
The Silver Road journey begins near the country’s southeastern border with the Czech Republic, in the Ore Mountains. 800 years ago, miners discovered silver there and shaped the history and development of the region. The road is an 87-mile-long trade corridor first established in the 12th century. Today it is an official panoramic route consisting of a network of ancient paths. Historic mining sites are scattered along the route, eventually merging into a medieval town called Schwarzenberg.
Embedded there is a piece of Porsche’s own history, the Porsche tool shop. The site is a historic tool shop for Porsche and a crucial part of the celebrated manufacturer’s automotive history. Seiffen was another town along the route and is nicknamed the “Toy Village” and is the unofficial German Christmas capital. The quiet yet powerful Porsche Macan Turbo drives through the whimsically decorated city for Christmas shopping and festive cheer. Freiberg, the historic silver capital along the route, was another stop, and then Dresden, home to one of the world’s oldest Christmas markets, the Striezelmarkt.
The journey for the Porsche Macan Turbo ended with the journey home, specifically to the Porsche factory in Leipzig, where the Macan and the Panamera are manufactured. The Porsche Charging Lounges in Himmelkron and Estenfeld made the journey easy and effortless and offered luxurious amenities that complemented the convenient charging. With the power and luxury of the Macan Turbo, the drive along the Silver Road, the “Road to Christmas,” brought holiday celebration and atmosphere in futuristic, high-tech Porsche style.
