While most smartphone brands have moved away from compact flagships, OnePlus seems keen on keeping the category alive. The company introduced the OnePlus 13T last year as a smaller alternative to its flagship OnePlus 13, packing top-notch specs into a more compact form factor. Now a new leak suggests that OnePlus is preparing to launch its successor.
According to a recent post by renowned tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via Playfuldroid), OnePlus could announce the OnePlus 15T in April, around the same time the company unveiled the OnePlus 13T last year. Although the company has not announced anything official yet, the leaker has already shared some important details about the device.
Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 15T is said to feature a 6.3-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, but will support a higher peak refresh rate of 165Hz. The device could also get an improved 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster and more accurate unlocks.
The OnePlus 15T may have a huge 7,500mAh battery
The leak also adds that the OnePlus 15T will retain the same 50MP JN5 telephoto camera as last year’s model, although details about the main and selfie cameras remain unclear. The biggest upgrade is expected to be in the battery, rising from 6,260 mAh on the OnePlus 13T to over 7,000 mAh, with OnePlus reportedly aiming for up to 7,500 mAh.
The OnePlus 15T is expected to come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon flagship chipset. However, it is unclear whether OnePlus will equip the device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or opt for the non-Elite Gen 5 SoC.
There is currently no information on international availability, but it can be assumed that OnePlus may not offer the device in all markets. That’s because the company only launched its predecessor in China and released a slightly downgraded version in India called the OnePlus 13s with a smaller battery and weaker selfie camera.
