Nothing is ready yet for the March 5 event with the new 4a series phones

Just yesterday, Apple announced a special “experience” or small media briefing to be held in three cities around the world, including London, New York and Shanghai, and we’ve already published a detailed story about the items we’re expecting from the presentation.

But less than a day later, Nothing CEO Carl Pei showed up with a cheeky invitation for the company’s new middle-class employees. In an X post, Pei shared an image of the Apple invitation with the words “Nothing” spray-painted on the Apple logo and “March 5” on the event date.

A cheeky invitation to a Phone 4a event

In his own cheeky way, Pei has announced a Nothing launch event for March 5, 2026.

At the event, Nothing is expected to introduce the successors to the Phone 3a series: the Phone 4a and the Phone 4a Pro. In the past, Pei has mentioned that the brand is focused on moving its popular mid-range series closer to a “flagship” experience.

Bold colors and performance improvements

Additionally, Pei also announced a “bold new color experiment” that could be a hint at a vibrant Phone 4a finish. According to recent leaks, both phones could be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which is said to offer an upgrade over the 7s Gen 3 chip used in the Phone 3a.

Otherwise, the Phone 4a series could feature a 6.82-inch AMOLED panel supporting a high refresh rate (120Hz or 144Hz), 8 or 12GB of RAM, either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, multiple cameras on the back (with a dedicated telephoto sensor), and over 5,000mAh of battery cells.

Both phones should run Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, out of the box.
