Mercedes-Benz creates a tailor-made vehicle for a special purpose.
League of Legends is one of the leading gaming titles in the world of esports, and the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game has gained traction worldwide, with participants and teams around the world competing for the world title every year. The final of this year’s World Cup is getting closer and closer and will take place on November 9th in Chengdu, China. As a long-time partner of the game and developer Riot Games, Mercedes-Benz has been involved in the tournament since its inception.
As the finale of the tournament approaches, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled incredible vehicles custom-built for the tournament, including a special CLA artwork based on the new generation CLA and showcasing some of the most advanced technology Mercedes-Benz has yet incorporated into a vehicle, as well as an electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class that will be the official trophy holder for the Summoner’s Cup, the prize for which the teams compete in the tournament.
Featuring a special trunk module made specifically to transport the Summoner’s Cup, the G-Class electric trophy holder is just one part of Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing partnership with League of Legends. One of the participating teams, South Korea’s T1, is led by superstar player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the first member of the League of Legends “Hall of Legends” and owner of a customized Mercedes-AMG SL due to his induction into the Hall of Fame. The team has reached the World Cup final for the fourth consecutive year and is aiming for a third consecutive victory this year. With a special trophy holder created for the tournament finals and artwork commemorating the game’s lore, Mercedes-Benz’s partnership with League of Legends gets even richer at this year’s World Finals.
