The updated Lexus RZ has yet to appear in Australian showrooms, but there’s a new, edgily styled flagship model in Japan: the RZ600e F Sport Performance.
Based on the RZ550e, the RZ600e F Sport Performance has a total system performance of 313kW. Lexus says the 13kW increase in power compared to the RZ550e is entirely due to the “re-evaluation of battery power limits.”
Despite the additional power, the 0 to 100 km/h time remains unchanged at 4.4 seconds. Both the front and rear motors are rated at 167kW and 268Nm.

The 77 kWh battery remains unchanged and is said to have a range of 525 km according to CLTC standards. CLTC is significantly more generous than the WLTP values usually quoted here and in Europe. According to WLTP, this battery in the less powerful RZ550e should be able to travel 450 km with a full charge.
The RZ600e is easily distinguishable from its smaller siblings thanks to its eye-catching carbon fiber aero kit, which features a distinctive front splitter, rear diffuser and two tailgate-mounted spoilers.
There are also carbon fiber deflector wings extending from the trailing edge of the front and rear wheel arches, with crisper detailing, painted in body color and appearing to be wider than the gloss black units fitted to other RZ variants.
Other carbon fiber elements include the roof, the styling element under the headlights and the ventilation slots in the hood.
The car rides on 21-inch black Enkei alloy wheels shod with 255/40 Yokohama Advan Sport tires at the front and thicker 295/35 rubber tires at the rear. Behind the new wheels are larger 20-inch discs with blue brake calipers, with the front units being a six-piston aluminum monobloc design.
Two color options are available: Black with Hakugin II Matte White or Black with Neutrino Gray. The former features some electric blue highlights.
Blue accents are present in the interior, which also features a yoke-style steering wheel for the drive-by-wire steering system, as well as Ultrasuede-covered front sports seats made using the Integrated Foam Molding Process.
Described as a “special edition,” the RZ600e F Sport Performance is available in Japan with prices starting at 12,165,000 yen (A$116,000).
It is unknown whether the RZ600e will be available outside of Japan. The underlying variant, the RZ550e, and the less powerful RZ500e have both been confirmed for Australia.
