While there hasn’t been a significant breakthrough in computer input devices like keyboards, Lenovo could change that at CES 2026. According to a report from Windows Latest, the company is working on a self-loading keyboard and mouse combo, another see-through combo, and an adaptive smart keyboard.
The most unique product in the leaks is the so-called “Lenovo Self-Charging Kit Concept”. It reportedly harvests energy from low indoor lighting (up to 50 lux) and charges itself when you use it indoors. Although this technology is similar to Logitech’s solar-powered keyboards, it also works without direct sunlight.
To give you an idea, solar powered devices, including keyboards, require around 200-500 lux of light, which makes the concept of Self-Charging Kit even more intriguing. The product is expected to remain a concept for now, but it could become very popular once it hits the market. Who wouldn’t want a keyboard and mouse combo that doesn’t require charging or batteries for a lifetime?
Another leaked model called the “Lenovo 900 Wireless Low-Profile Mechanical Keyboard (and Mouse)” reportedly features a translucent aesthetic. Unlike the light-powered interior keyboard, this isn’t a concept, so there’s a high chance Lenovo will launch it soon (in Thunder Gray and Cloud Gray finishes).
As far as features are concerned, the keyboard is said to have Lenovo’s special four-point mechanical switches that enhance the user’s typing experience. In addition, the keyboard also supports multiple device pairing (via 2.4G dongle or dual Bluetooth).
Although no images of the see-through keyboard were released in the release, I imagine it to be a mechanical keyboard with a see-through exterior that reveals the internal circuitry and switches, making it look cool and futuristic. Think of it like a keyboard if Nothing had made one.
Last but not least, the company is working on a smart keyboard that can adjust the typing feel to suit your needs. The report mentions that the device can “adjust stroke with optical actuation controls,” which should result in clear tactile feedback for various tasks.
When gaming, the keyboard detects fast key presses, while professionals benefit from lighter and more precise key presses. As you can see from the promotional image, the keyboard has WiFi, Bluetooth and battery indicators at the top. Most of the keyboard is taken up by the keys, leaving very little room for the keyboard frame.
Finally, there is no number pad, making the keyboard truly portable. For everyday users, Lenovo’s new keyboards could offer a quieter, smarter and more comfortable typing experience.
Additionally, it looks like CES 2026 will be a significant stage for the company’s peripherals business. However, the concepts could come onto the market by 2027.
