Samsung’s next premium earbuds are leaving rumor territory and into the paperwork phase. Phone Arena reports that the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have passed the FCC in the US, a certification body that typically indicates a device is about to go on sale.
The bigger catch is the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro’s battery spec. The same report points to a leaked capacity of 57mAh per earbud, up from 48mAh on the previous Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, a roughly 18% increase in raw capacity.
The timing isn’t official yet, but Phone Arena says the Galaxy Buds 4 series could launch early next year, right in line with the expected Galaxy S26 window. If you’re shopping now, you’re in the classic situation: buy what’s available or wait for the next-gen model that’s starting to look real.
The battery boost could be the upgrade
Battery life is still the daily issue with true wireless earbuds, especially when Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is enabled. A 57mAh cell doesn’t automatically mean a certain number of additional hours, but it does give Samsung more leeway to improve actual playback time or keep performance consistent when running ANC.
It also hints at where Samsung is putting its emphasis on “Pro.” As the company spends its internal space budget on batteries, longevity will likely be a headline, not a footnote.
The FCC approval is the indication for closer market launch
The FCC listing is the strongest signal that release is imminent. Products typically only appear there when the hardware is mature enough for the compliance process, even if companies don’t provide the data.
Leaks mentioned by Phone Arena also suggest physical changes: a thinner, flatter stem and a charging case that switches to a horizontal internal layout. That could be a practical win and put it at the top of the best wireless earbuds list if it makes the case easier to put in your pocket and the earbuds easier to grab.
What you should do now
If battery life is your main gripe, it makes sense to wait, at least until Samsung confirms actual battery life and not just capacity. If you can’t wait: The report doesn’t include pricing or an exact launch date, so there’s no guarantee that better value for money is just around the corner.
Watch out for Samsung’s event timing and the first official numbers on battery life, especially with ANC turned on, as well as hands-on impressions of the new case layout.
