LDV Deliver 9 and eDeliver 9 recalled

The Australian LDV importer Ateco Automotive is recalling the diesel engine LDV deliver 9 and battery-electric LDV eDeliver 9 Commercial vehicles, as their airbags could deploy unexpectedly.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the airbag control unit (ACU) software may have been calibrated with a higher sensitivity than intended,” Ateco said in its recall notice.

“As a result, driver and front passenger airbags, curtain airbags and/or seat-mounted side airbags can activate unexpectedly while driving.

“Unexpected activation of the airbag while driving could increase the risk of an accident and result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
