As part of the celebrations for the company’s 80th anniversary Light up revealed the Vision Meta Turismowhich may introduce some sort of electric replacement for the Stinger.
The latest interpretation of the brand’s Opposites United design book, the Swoopy concept combines a futuristic body with a lounge-inspired interior that is said to pay homage to the speed and elegance of long-distance travel in the 1960s, hopefully without the burnt smell of cigarette smoke.
There are also whitewall tires, but the tire tread is lower than anyone would have thought possible in the 1960s.

The interior is bathed in light thanks to the windshield that extends over the B-pillar and other pieces of glass scattered across the roof.
The driver sits in a yellow fabric mesh seat and almost all vehicle information is displayed on a head-up display that takes up the entire lower area of the windshield.
Depending on which of the car’s three modes (Speedster, Gamer or Dreamer) is selected, the display attempts to gamify the driving experience by setting goals, awarding points and assigning a global rank.
Smart glasses enhance the experience even further by stripping away interior space and creating the impression that the driver is floating above the road.
There are currently no details about the Meta Turismo’s powertrain. Kia only says that full information will be released “in the near future.”
Given the car’s lack of tailpipes and exceptionally short nose, it’s probably safe to assume that the Meta Turismo is an electric vehicle.
The Vision Meta Turismo was unveiled at an event celebrating Kia’s 80th anniversary, although Kyungsung Precision Industry was founded in May 1944. The company was renamed Kia in 1952 when bicycle production began. In 1957 production expanded to motorcycles, in 1962 to trucks and finally to cars in 1974.
It is unclear whether there is any production intention behind the Vision Meta Turismo. Earlier reports suggested that Kia was working on an electric successor to the Stinger, but subsequent rumors suggested that program had been scrapped.
