Hyundai recently confirmed it is testing a new engine for performance cars, described as high-revving and powerful, and intended for mass production. It was mounted amidships in a Veloster mule.

Autocar According to reports, this new i30 N could be based on an upcoming facelift for the i30 Hatch, which has already been spotted in testing and suggests a launch in late 2026 or early 2027.

That suggests Hyundai may be looking to extend the lifespan of its current-generation i30 Hatch, launched in 2017, even further, while the company is planning a similarly sized Ioniq 3 electric vehicle (EV) – unveiled in this year’s Concept Three – for markets such as Europe.
