A new video from California-based technology company Figure AI shows its humanoid robot running with the company’s workers.
The robot’s running style looks smooth and natural as it jogs with three men (or four if you count the person picking it up). The idea even arises of using the robot as a personal trainer one day.
Imagine if it could set the right pace for running as you prepare for your first marathon. And think about how cool it would look to walk around the park with one of these by your side.
Admittedly, appearing in public with it will not always elicit the best reaction. During a recent run around the company campus, for example, a man clearly afraid of the robot uprising was heard screaming from his car, “These things are going to kill us one day.”
The video posted by Figure AI boss Brett Adcock doesn’t say whether the robot was remotely controlled while running or whether it jogged autonomously.
The company introduced the latest version of its Figure robot in October 2025, a machine designed to help around the house and perform various tasks such as loading a dishwasher, folding laundry, and serving food and drinks.
It’s not clear when Figure 03 will be ready to march into your home and do all the little jobs you hate doing yourself, but any robotics company that can eventually crack a design like this will surely be richly rewarded.
Chinese startup MindOn recently acquired one of Unitree’s G1 robots and programmed it for tasks around the home. A video shows how he does his job confidently – and apparently without any teleoperation.
Whether at home, in the factory or even as a personal trainer, this year is set to be a significant year for the development of humanoid robots.
