According to a new research report, Honor emerged as one of the top performers in 2025, posting record growth. Data from Omdia’s latest analysis shows that the brand’s shipments rose 11% year-on-year, outperforming rivals such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
The report notes that overall global smartphone shipments increased 2%, with Apple the market leader with 7% year-over-year growth and a 19% market share. Samsung followed close behind with similar growth and market share numbers, while Xiaomi came in third with a 13% market share despite a 2% drop in shipments.
Although Honor was not among the top 5 vendors and lagged slightly behind Vivo, Oppo and Transsion in terms of market share, the company stood out for its growth performance. Omdia attributes this momentum primarily to Honor’s rapid geographic expansion amid intense competition in its core markets.
Honor’s 2025 lineup reflects a greater focus on innovation
Honor also launched several notable devices last year that likely supported its upward trend. Its foldable flagship, the Honor Magic V5, has been praised for its ultra-thin design, excellent screens and top-notch camera hardware. This solved some crucial problems with foldable phones, particularly around hinge durability, liquid intrusion protection, and even display brightness. The company also revised its software support commitment to align with Google’s, promising 7 years of updates for Honor Magic 7 Pro and newer models.
Late last year, Honor introduced the Honor Win, a flagship with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a huge 10,000mAh battery. The company appears to be continuing this momentum into 2026. According to recent reports, it is now preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable flagship, the Honor Magic V6, at MWC early next month. The Honor Robot Phone, which debuted at CES earlier this year, will also be unveiled during the show.
