Google is simplifying eCommerce shipping and returns policies in 2025

Online shoppers love clear information about shipping costs, delivery times and easy returns. These factors create trust and often determine whether someone clicks “buy.” On November 12, 2025, Google announced big news that will help every merchant share accurate information Shipping and Return Policy directly with Google search. Now even small stores without a Google Merchant Center account can highlight free shipping, fast delivery, or generous returns in search results, knowledge panels, and brand profiles.

With this update, more businesses can attract customers by being transparent Shipping and Return Policy exactly when buyers need them most.

Two easy ways to add your shipping and returns policies

Google offers merchants two easy ways to share this information – choose what works best for you:

  • Set it up in Search Console (no code required): If Google considers your site an online store, you’ll now access a simple Shipping & Returns section in Search Console Settings. Simply fill out your guidelines using an easy-to-use form. Search Console settings take precedence over everything else and the feature will roll out globally in the next few weeks.
  • Leverage new structured data at the organization level: Add the code once for a site-wide shipping policy instead of labeling each product. Place the new ShippingService markup (nested under Organization) on your shipping policy page. Easily test it with Google’s Rich Results Test tool. Product-specific shipping details continue to take precedence over general guidelines when necessary.
