Ford Ranger, Everest and F-150 with ARB lights recalled due to fire risk

Ford Australia is recalling over 2,600 copies ranger ute, Everest SUV and F-150 Collection due to an issue that could result in a vehicle fire.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture can enter the wiring harness of ARB Solis lights and cause corrosion,” the company says in the recall notice.

“In this case, excessive heat could be generated, which could cause the vehicle to catch fire when parked or driven.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or property damage.”

ARB has also issued a separate recall notice for the SJBAHARNFRD wiring harness for its Intensity Solis driving lights.

“The harness connector to the light may not be fully engaged and could result in water entering the harness connector,” ARB said in its recall notice.

“There is a risk of property damage or injury from fire if there is water in the harness connector. Incidents have occurred.”
