Ferrari from Seattle takes historic team victory at the Ferrari Challenge

The 2025 Ferrari Challenge North America season was marked by dramatic podium finishes and exciting on-track battles. 33 official Ferrari dealers and 95 drivers took part in the specification series with the Ferrari 296 Challenge over eight racing weekends. Rounds in 2025 included historic tracks such as Sonoma Raceway and Daytona International Speedway before finishing at the Mugello Circuit.

Ferrari of Seattle took the Coppa team victory after a dominant season which included a historic double podium finish in the Trofeo Pirelli class at Watkins Glen and saw him finish over 600 points ahead of the nearest dealer. The team’s success rested on the performance of its seven individual drivers.

In the top class Trofeo Pirelli, Massimo Perrina drove to the drivers’ championship after 8 race victories. His season performance included two perfect weekends at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen – he took the pole position, finished first and set the fastest lap of the race. Roberto Perrina, his uncle and sales and marketing director at Ferrari of Seattle, shared the podium with Massimo Perrina several times throughout the season. Roberto Perrina finished the season in third place and narrowly missed out on silver.

Another big point haul for the Seattle team came from the Coppa Shell class. Yahn Bernier, a Ferrari Challenge driver for Ferrari of Seattle since 2020, had a strong year with 6 wins and a podium finish in all but 2 races, ultimately costing him the championship by 11 points.

“Mitchell Green and I knew it was going to be a close battle all season long – he told me before the first race in Sonoma,” Bernier shared when asked about the season-long battle. “Mitchell is very fast and has become a very consistent racer and has really improved his racing skills – and has become a good friend.”

Bernier concluded the season with a second place finish in the Finali Mondiali (World Final), surpassing riders from around the world.

The Seattle riders constantly pushed each other, looking for improvement in every corner and every practice session.

In the Trofeo Pirelli Am class it was Michael Porter’s first victory, which showed that the hard work was worth it. After a poorly placed Race 1 at Watkins Glen, Porter not only managed to set the fastest time in qualifying for pole position the next day, but also finished the race in first place.

“Winning was a dream come true. Pulling into Parc Ferme at Watkins Glen and seeing all three of my teammates already there pounding on my hood is a memory I won’t forget,” said Porter, describing the moment he realized his team had landed on the podium in the major leagues.

The Watkins Glen weekend was historic for the Ferrari Challenge series as, for the first time, a single Ferrari dealer team finished on every step of the podium in its class. Ferrari from Seattle accomplished this feat in the Trofeo Pirelli in both races and made a statement.

During their stay in Italy, Seattle-based Ferrari also received an award away from the racetrack: Anna Choi, service advisor, received the highest award as Top After-Sales Ambassador at the Ferrari Testa Rossa Awards. The global competition uses knowledge tests and customer simulations to determine the top ambassador among all Ferrari dealers. The award highlights Ferrari of Seattle’s attention to detail from the dealership to the track.

The Ferrari 296 Challenge is a track-only variant based on the road-going Ferrari 296 GTB and features a dehybridized twin-turbo V6 engine with over 700 horsepower, advanced aerodynamics and lightweight construction. The Ferrari 296 Challenge replaced the Ferrari 488 Challenge, which ran in the series from 2017 to 2024 and can be driven in multi-brand racing or for personal pleasure.
