A century after the original Super Sports broke 100 miles per hour, Bentley is redefining the concept of performance luxury with its lightest and most dynamic grand tourer to date.
Bentley Motors has unveiled the most driver-focused road car in its long and storied history: the new Bentley Continental GT Supersports. Limited to just 500 individually numbered examples, this latest development combines handcrafted British luxury with track-ready precision.
Marking the 100th anniversary of the first Bentley “Super Sports,” the new Supersports reinterprets the concept for the modern age with rear-wheel drive, weighing under two tons and an exciting 666 hp (657 hp) V8 biturbo engine. It is the first non-hybrid Bentley in years and the most powerful production V8 ever fitted to a Crewe-built car.
“The new Supersports is more than just the most driver-focused Bentley yet,” said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors. “It marks a return to Bentley making more extreme cars – ones that combine exceptional performance with true driver engagement, while remaining unique pieces of automotive art tailored to each customer.”
Performance with composure
The Supersports takes the Grand Touring DNA of the Continental GT and channels it through the lens of motorsport engineering. Its Akrapovič titanium exhaust, carbon ceramic brakes and lightweight 22-inch forged Manthey Racing wheels underline its intent. Each component serves both purpose and stability, from the largest aerodynamic splitter ever fitted to a Bentley to the carbon fiber roof that lowers the center of gravity while saving weight.
Under the hood, the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivers 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, propelling the Supersports from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaching an expected top speed of 300 km/h. But this isn’t just about numbers, it’s also about feeling. The engineers prioritized driver involvement and created the first rear-wheel drive Continental GT ever built.
Design defined by function
A dramatic new front bumper and diving surfaces control airflow, while a fixed rear wing and diffuser generate over 300 kg (661.39 lbsmu) more downforce than the Continental GT Speed. Bentley designers crafted every aerodynamic part from exposed carbon fiber, proving that form can follow function while maintaining distinctive elegance.
Inside, the two-seat cabin is designed for a driver-focused experience. New, lightweight sports seats are lowered for a race-ready position and covered in a mix of leather, Dinamica and carbon fiber. Customers can order a single-tone, two-tone or tri-tone interior with bespoke upholstery, dark chrome accents and individually numbered plaques denoting the exclusivity of each vehicle.
Handcrafted rarity
Like every Bentley, the Supersports is hand-built in Crewe. Each example can be personalized through Mulliner, with 24 exterior paint finishes, five unique design themes and a range of finish options ranging from high-gloss carbon fiber to machine-turned aluminum.
The debut specification ‘Nightfall’ combines anthracite gloss paint with camel stripes and a contrasting ‘8’ grille. Another, “Daybreak,” combines Jetstream Matte with accents from Arctica and Portofino, illustrating Bentley’s dual focus on luxury and dynamism.
A legacy reborn
The Supersports name dates back to 1925, when Bentley’s first “Super Sports” became the brand’s original 100 mile car. Later revivals in 2009 and 2017 defined the pinnacle of performance for their generations. This new model – Project Mildred, named in honor of pioneering racer Mildred Mary Petre – continues that lineage and takes the brand into a new era of purposeful performance.
Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with first deliveries scheduled for early 2027 in key luxury markets including the US, Europe and the Middle East.
The Bentley Continental GT Supersports combines impressive performance with tailored craftsmanship. A century after the name first made history, Bentley’s lightest and most dynamic grand tourer ever built redefines what it means to drive luxury.
