The next generation BMW X3 M And X4 M It looks like it will offer M3 levels of performance in a larger and roomier package.
According to a well-known BMW insider posting on the website Bimmerpost Forum there will be full M versions for both the electric SUV iX3 and the upcoming “coupe SUV” iX4.
Interestingly, these high-performance models will shed their “i” prefix and be referred to as the X3 M and X4M.

While the M3 has a unique battery, the X3 M and X4 M have to make do with the 108 kWh battery used in the iX3 50 xDrive. The higher performance characteristics of the M powertrain will result in the range falling from the 1950s WLTP figure of 805 km.
The X3 M and X4 M are built in Debrecen, Hungary, along with their lower-performance siblings, the iX3 and iX4. Production of both models is scheduled to begin at the end of 2027.
While spy photographers have snapped images of the upcoming iX4 coupe and electric M3 sedan, no images of the i3 wagon and the M variants of the iX3 and iX4 have surfaced yet.
For those who can’t wait to have a high-performance X3 in their driveway, BMW is reportedly planning to launch an M60 variant in the not-too-distant future.
The currently most powerful model in the iX3 range is the 50 xDrive, which has a dual motor system with a total of 345 kW and 645 Nm. Weighing a whopping 2,360 kg, the 50 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
