You can now run PC games like Cyberpunk 2077 on Android without the need for streaming

Cyberpunk 2077 for Android has just crossed a line that used to belong to tech demos and wishful thinking. In a recent ETA PRIME video, the game runs on a phone without cloud streaming and without a nearby PC doing the heavy lifting.

The setup relies on PC emulation layers, including GameHub and WinLater, to translate x86 games to run on ARM phone hardware. It’s starting to look like a repeatable recipe instead of a one-time trick.

ETA PRIME used a Red Magic 11 Pro, which they claim is the most powerful Android phone tested to date. The phone combines a Snapdragon Elite 2 chip (referred to as Gen 5 in the video) with 16GB of RAM, as well as active cooling such as a built-in fan and liquid cooling to remain stable under load.

Playable settings, real numbers

At 720p on low settings and FSR 2.1 on Balanced, Cyberpunk 2077 on Android clocked in at just under 30 FPS. This baseline is important because it shows that the game can hold together before additional smoothing is applied.

Turn on FSR frame generation and the result changes quickly. ETA PRIME saw frame rates jump to the mid-to-high 40s, making movement and combat something more akin to handheld PC territory than a phone experiment.

However, there are costs. The video points out ghosting and occasional hiccups, the kind of artifacts you might notice when frame generation and emulation stack up.

A reality check at Steam Deck level

ETA PRIME also tried out a Steam Deck preset, a higher-level settings profile intended to reflect the handheld’s typical goals. Even there, the Red Magic 11 Pro averaged around 30 FPS, then climbed back up to the 40s once frame generation was activated.

That’s impressive, but also specific. This result depends on a top-end phone, strong cooling and careful settings, and weaker devices can throttle severely.

What to watch next

The next victories won’t be spectacular. Look for smoother picture pacing, fewer artifacts, and more games that start cleanly without babysitting.

For now, the practical insight is simple. Cyberpunk 2077 on Android is playable under the right conditions, and if you want the smooth version that ETA PRIME shows, you’ll need high-end specs and serious cooling.
