Zeekr celebrated its first year of operation in Australia yesterday with a special handover ceremony at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP), where more than 100 customers drove off in their new vehicle Zeekr 7X.
The 7X is named after the Zeekr small SUV
The 7X is a direct competitor to the plethora of mid-size electric SUVs currently available in Australia, including the best-selling Tesla Model Y (the country’s most popular electric vehicle), and attracted more than 2500 pre-orders before local deliveries began this week.

According to Zeekr, the first 1,000 deposits were received within seven days of order opening last month – before testing began on Monday, October 6th.
While the SMP event was apparently intended only for New South Wales customers, Zeekr says it continues to secure additional deliveries of the 7X “to ensure all initial customers receive their vehicles before the end of 2025.”
The young Chinese automaker, founded in 2021 and now majority owned by Volvo parent Geely Holding Group, says 74 percent of 7X buyers in Australia are new to electric vehicles and that 70 percent came from internal combustion engine cars, “with many previously driving European brands.”
“This signals strong demand for premium all-electric vehicles and demonstrates broader consumer desire for a faster-charging electric vehicle with market-leading battery technology,” Zeekr Australia said in a press release.
The accompanying images suggest that green is the most popular 7X paint color to date, and the dual-motor performance all-wheel drive (AWD) flagship is believed to have received the most orders to date.
Priced at $72,900 (excluding on-road costs), it is claimed to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds thanks to combined power and torque of no less than 475kW and 710Nm.
Still, the 7X’s 800V electrical architecture allows the large 100kWh battery to be quickly charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes.
The prices for the Zeekr
The mid-range Long Range RWD variant offers the same 310kW/440Nm outputs but the larger battery, costs $63,900 plus on the road and is said to have a range of up to 615km.
“Seeing our customers take delivery of their Zeekr 7X for the first time is more than just handing over a car, it’s a moment of connection and shared excitement,” said Frank Li, Vice President of Zeekr International and Managing Director of Zeekr Australia.
“In just one year, we have built a community of early adopters who share our vision to imagine beyond, and this milestone celebrates that journey.”
Zeekr Australia now has 12 dealers across the country and has sold 730 vehicles as of September this year, including 580 Zeekr Xs, 97 Zeekr 009s and 53 Zeekr 7Xs.
