The current one Volkswagen Touareg will soon complete production and will be shipped with a new special edition.
The 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition replaces the 210TDI R-Line, while all Touaregs – including the 170TDI, 210TDI Elegance and the plug-in hybrid R flagship – receive special “Final Edition” interior applications.
It will be available in Australian showrooms from March 2026, priced at $124,990 before on-road costs – $8700 more for the 210TDI R-Line.

Compared to the 210TDI R-Line, it includes the following equipment:
- Panoramic sunroof
- 21-inch Leeds alloy wheels in black
- Black roof rails, window surrounds, grille and mirror caps
- Head-up display
- Dynaudio Consequence sound system
- Passenger seat memory
- 4-zone automatic climate control
- Electric door lock
- Electrically adjustable steering column with memory
For the 210TDI R-Line, of which some stock may still be available, a panoramic sunroof was a $3,300 option, while many of the other features – including a head-up display and electric door locks – were included in an $8,000 sound and convenience package.
Metallic paint is standard on the 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition, with Silicon Gray and Grenadilla Black finishes available – normally a $2,200 option.
Meloe Blue is a $700 option (down from $2,700), while the new Oryx White pearl paint is a $2,000 option exclusive to the Wolfsburg Edition.
As with the 210TDI R-Line, power is provided by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 producing 210kW of power and 600Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
“The Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition is, alongside the Touareg R, one of the heroes of the current model generation, with additional luxury and exclusivity,” said local product manager of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Arjun Nidigallu.
The company confirmed the end of Touareg production in October, and at the time a Volkswagen Group Australia spokesperson confirmed the flagship SUV would “remain in local showrooms well into 2026.”
But the Touareg name may not be dead forever, according to a report from Automobile Week This suggests that Volkswagen plans to reintroduce the badge on a battery-electric model in 2029.
By the end of November, Volkswagen had delivered 728 Touaregs in Australia this year, 12.6 percent fewer than in the same period last year.
