2026 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV priced for Australia

The closer we get to the start of Skodas The Czech manufacturer has now set the prices for the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in Australia Kodiaq large SUV that will present the technology on site.

That should arrive in the first quarter of 2026 Kodiaq Select PHEV will be the first Skoda PHEV to be sold in Australia, priced at $63,490 before on-road costs. The Select is normally the base variant of the petrol Kodiaq range and will be the only PHEV trim available at launch.

As predicted by Skoda in October 2025, the Select PHEV sits between the petrol Sportline and RS models in the Kodiaq range, although it is cheaper Daily Sparkz predicted at the time to be around $6,000.

That price means it competes directly with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (from $57,290 before on-roads), although that model is set to soon be upgraded with local ride and handling tuning. The Kodiaq is still much cheaper than the related Cupra Terramar VZe at $77,990 before on-roads.

The Skoda Superb PHEV is still expected to launch alongside its Kodiaq counterpart, but details have not yet been revealed.

The Kodiaq Select PHEV is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an 85kW/330Nm electric motor, producing a total peak output of 150kW of power and 350Nm of torque. This gives a claimed 0-100km/h time of 8.4 seconds.

The Kodiaq Select PHEV uses a 25.7kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged at up to 11kW (AC) and 50kW (DC), with a combined fuel consumption of 1.85L/100km. As with most other PHEVs, this figure should be viewed with caution.

Most impressive is the SUV’s all-electric range, which Skoda says is 112km on the WLTP cycle. For comparison: Mitsubishi claims an electric range of 86 km for the Outlander PHEV, but this is based on the milder NEDC protocol.

The Kodiaq PHEV offers multiple driving modes as well as a choice of low, high and auto-regenerative braking levels. There are also two power delivery modes – hybrid or electric – and two charging modes while driving: automatic for engine-driven charging; and manual, for plug-in charging only.
