2026 Mahindra XUV 7XO introduced as updated XUV700 with new look and same price

The 2026 Mahindra XUV 7XO has been launched in India ahead of its expected release in Australia later this year, bringing a new name and improved exterior and interior – at no additional cost – to the existing XUV700 mid-size SUV.

The mid-cycle update follows the naming convention that Mahindra began with the XUV 3XO small SUV, a rival to the Chery Tiggo 4, which launched in July 2025 as one of Australia’s most affordable SUVs.

Mahindra has not yet officially confirmed the 7XO for Australia, where features and pricing are also yet to be announced, although the XUV700 is currently the cheapest seven-seat SUV in that market.

Along with the new name, the 2026 update brings a refreshed exterior design inspired by the Indian brand’s electric models (not yet sold here), resulting in cleaner lines, but the XUV700’s core dimensions and powertrains are carried over.

The signature “boomerang” LED daytime running lights are part of a new front fascia alongside a redesigned grille and bumper, while the flush “smart” door handles have been carried over from the current model.

In addition to a redesigned side profile, the rear bumper and LED taillights have also been redesigned, while redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels and an expanded paint color palette complete the exterior changes.

Inside, the interior receives even more extensive improvements: all versions feature a 12.3-inch “coast-to-coast” digital screen (up from 10.25 inches) that spans the entire width of the dashboard, unifying the multimedia display and instrument cluster and reducing the number of physical buttons.
