The Kia EV9 GTthe hottest member of the Korean brand’s full-size electric SUV lineup, will carry a price tag of $129,250 before on-road costs.
This makes the performance electric SUV the brand’s most expensive vehicle to date.
The GT will arrive in showrooms “shortly” and will sit on top of the existing rear-wheel drive Air variants and the all-wheel drive Earth and GT Line variants, the prices of which will remain unchanged.
It’s $8,250 more expensive than the GT-Line, but produces 374kW of power and 740Nm of torque – an increase of 91.4kW and 40Nm – with Kia quoting a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.5 seconds, 0.8 seconds quicker than the GT-Line.

Compared to the GT-Line, with which it shares its 99.8 kWh long-range battery, it achieves an additional electric range of 5 km at 510 km in the WLTP cycle.
In addition to more dynamics and slightly more range, the GT has an electronically controlled suspension – with localized ride and handling tuning – as well as improved brakes and an electronic limited-slip differential.
Externally, it features a digital LED grille with Kia’s ‘Star Map’ lighting, as well as 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels, behind which are lime green brake calipers.
Inside, there are standard second-row relaxation seats – replacing the bench seat on other EV9s – as well as Alcantara inserts and various lime green accents that match the brake calipers.
The EV9 GT was revealed back in November 2024, a year after the standard EV9 was introduced in Australia, and was initially confirmed for a local launch in the second half of 2025.
Perhaps surprisingly, there has been very little activity in the large, three-row electric SUV segment since the EV9’s launch over a year ago.
It joined the much more expensive Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, which was launched about a year earlier. The EV9’s Hyundai cousin, the Ioniq 9, hit the market in 2025, and the Cadillac Vistiq is slated to launch here this year.
